If the fresh breeze and beautiful scenery are calling you to get outside and explore, chances are your dog feels the same. What better way to celebrate the arrival of this delightful season than with an invigorating walk with your best pal?<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>The Benefits Of Dog Walking<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like us, our pets\u2019 bodies are built to move. Pets and people alike can experience lethargy, depression, and other serious health issues when regular exercise and fresh air are neglected. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The advantages to picking up that leash and heading out the door on a regular basis are many:<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Daily walks promote weight management for both dogs and people<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regular exercise helps to keep your dog\u2019s, as well as your heart, lungs, and muscles strong, as well as reduce joint pain and improve mobility. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Walks provide plenty of opportunities for socializing and interacting with your community<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Walking with your dog helps to reinforce his or her <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lonetreevet.com\/blog\/a-well-trained-dog-is-a-happy-dog-obedience-care-at-lone-tree-veterinary-medical-center\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">training and socialization<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> skills, including basic commands and loose leash walking.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">20-30 minutes of exercise per day can alleviate excitability and behavior problems in dogs. Leave your devices at home and take this opportunity to soak in your gorgeous surroundings with a happy dog.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Dog Walking Must-Haves<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As much as we would all love to just walk out the door unencumbered, safe and effective dog walking requires a few basic supplies:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A collar with current ID tags is a must for all dogs, especially when leaving the home or yard. If you have not had your dog microchipped yet, consider doing so for added safety.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now that the spring walking season has begun, make sure your dog is up to date on all vaccines and parasite preventives. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lonetreevet.com\/#contact\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Call us<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> if you aren\u2019t sure or to schedule an appointment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Obviously you will need a leash to walk your dog!
